Redknapp signs one-year deal at Birmingham
Harry Redknapp has signed a one-year deal to stay on at Championship side Birmingham City after helping them escape relegation, the club said on Friday.
Redknapp, who at 70 is the oldest manager in English football, led Birmingham to two wins in their final two games to end the season in 19th position, two points clear of the relegation zone.
He took over from Gianfranco Zola in April and was initially given the role until the end of the season.
"Redknapp has signed a one-year deal," said a statement on the club's website (www.bcfc.com). "Redknapp held talks with the Club's owners and Board of Directors this week and finalised the details of his contract last night.
"The composition of Redknapp's backroom team will be revealed in due course."
