Gov Wike accuses police of hiding APC connection in murder of DSP Alkali

Gov Wike accuses police of hiding APC connection in murder of DSP AlkaliRivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has frowned at the failure of Nigerian Police to make public the communication an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and a former commissioner had with the killers of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohammed Alkali.

He therefore demanded that the police make public the circumstance that led to the murder of Alkali, who was murdered during the December 10, 2016 legislative rerun elections in the state.
According to the governor, instead of hiding the “obvious facts,” the police should do the needful and tell the world the way and manner the late DSP was killed.
Wike stated this when he granted audience to the management of the Independent Newspapers Limited, who awarded him the ‘Man of the Year 2016’ Award at the Government House in Port Harcourt, adding that plots to blackmail the state government would fail as Rivers people could not be cowed.
“The police should let the world know where the DSP was killed. What is the polling unit where he was killed? The former Commissioner of Power, who was mentioned by the killers, has he been questioned? Where is the call log of that former commissioner, as communicated with the killers? Have they checked the discussions between the former commissioner and the arrested killers?
