Buhari might return to Nigeria within a week, say aides

Two aides of President Muhammadu Buhari last night said the ailing Nigerian leader might head home within a week, subject to clearance by his doctors. In an interview with Saharareporters and on the condition of anonymity, one of the two sources also claimed that some of the president’s latest health symptoms revealed in our recent reports arose as adverse reactions to drugs prescribed for Mr. Buhari since he arrived in the UK. The symptoms include memory loss and speech impairment.

Abuja camp opens for Eagles on Monday

Nigeria’s Super Eagles returned to the country on Friday afternoon after spending a week training and playing friendly matches against Corsica and Togo. Seven players and some back-room staff arrived in Abuja from Paris after yesterday’s 3-0 win over the Hawks . The other players didn’t join up for the trip to Nigeria as they had already made their flight arrangements to head back to their bases before linking up with the rest of the squad in Abuja.

Date, venue change for Gabon-Zambia friendly

Gabon have announced a date and venue change for the internationally friendly match with Zambia. The match was initially scheduled to be played on Saturday, 3 June 2017 in Franceville but will now be played in Libreville on Sunday, 4 June 2017. The match was rescheduled to Sunday because the venue, the Stade de l'Amitié, will host a Caf Confederation Cup match between C.F. Mounana and Horoya AC on Saturday.

Chama injury blow for Lusaka Dynamos

Lusaka Dynamos will be without their talismanic captain, Clatous Chama, when they take on Nchanga Rangers in a week 10 fixture at Nchanga Stadium on Saturday. Chama suffered an ankle injury in the goalless draw with Konkola Blades last weekend and was unable to recover ahead of the trip to Chingola. Police arrest 5 suspects for killing pregnant woman over witchcraft in Adamawa

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa, Mr Moses Jitoboh, has confirmed the arrest of five suspects for beating a pregnant woman to death for alleged witchcraft. Jitoboh told newsmen in Yola on Saturday that the 32 year old woman, Ayina Afraimu of Falu village in Guyuk Local Government Area of the state was killed by the suspects who used sticks and rope. “She was attacked with sticks, rope and killed by five suspects on allegation that the deceased was a witch, who was responsible for the deaths and sickness of persons in the town of Falu.
